Cheers went up in Jephson Gardens on Thursday (6 July) when the Mayor, Cllr Caroline Evetts, launched the Leamington in Bloom geranium trains to mark the start of the official judging of the Town’s floral gardens and displays next Tuesday (11 July).
Cllr Caroline Evetts said:
“It was a wonderful day the sun shone and the children enjoyed seeing their flowers displayed in the geranium train.
“This is the twelfth year that our schools and nurseries from in and around the town have taken part in a project to grow geraniums for the two floral trains.
“One of the trains will be displayed outside the tropical plant house at the gardens while the other can be seen at Leamington railway station.”
The trains were launched to mark Leamington’s participation in this year’s Heart of England in Bloom competition. The organisers are again going for gold this year, having achieved the top award in 2016. Judges will visit on Tuesday to inspect the work done over the past twelve months.
