37 HOURS PER WEEK

(plus evening meetings)

Salary (£53,131- £56,272)

The Council is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced manager to succeed the current Town Clerk who is retiring.

Royal Leamington Spa Town Council is the largest Town Council in Warwickshire with a population over 46,000. The Council has embarked upon a Neighbourhood Plan which it anticipates putting to public referendum in 2020.

We are looking for someone who is self- motivated and able to lead and develop a small team to help deliver the Council’s ambitious agenda. You will be a good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills who is able to develop good working relationships both with elected members of the Council and external organisations. Your knowledge of local government will be a vital attribute to ensure that the Council is appropriately advised of its legal obligations.  This Post also combines the duties of the Responsible Financial Officer requiring an understanding of governance, financial planning and end of year accounting procedures. The position calls for an individual with the ability to think strategically to assist the development of the Council in a dynamic and evolving environment.

The successful candidate will be expected to attend evening meetings, events and work occasionally on the week-end.

In return, the Council offers an excellent remuneration package including membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme.

The Post is politically restricted as defined within the Local Government Housing Act 1989.
